Vanessa is the President of Virgin Music Group UK, the world’s leading partner to independent music companies and artists who require a standalone team with global infrastructure and local expertise in every major music market around the world. Her time at VMG includes working with artists such as Rema, Tom Odell, Self Esteem and David Kushner and labels including Mushroom Group, Modern Sky, Mixtape Madness and EGA Distro. Previously she was a musician who toured the world for 15 years as a singer and pianist and founded the record label and publisher Regent Street Records. Vanessa spent 6 years as the independent label representative on the board of the British Phonographic Industry, the trade association that runs the BRIT Awards and Mercury Music Prize. Here she became the first director of the BPI Innovation Hub; a post that led her to become a mentor at Abbey Road Red, the technology incubator at the world-famous studios, where she now sits on the board.
